Description: Camel (Hemiauchenia macrocephala ) molar. Distinguished from Palaeolama mirifica by the coating of cementum on the outer surface, visible on this sample as the black crenulated interlacing. Not distinguishable from Palaeolama by size, but Hemiauchenia is generally more robust and higher crowned.

Age: Pleistocene.
