Action 52 was made in the U.S.A by Active Enterprises. Active Enterprises only released 2 games: Action 52 and Cheetamen 2. They released Action 52 for a retail price of $199. Quite ridiculous considering how bad the games suck. After you pop in the transparent cartridge, you hear some jazzy opening music and a guy that says, "make your selection now."
I played about 15 or so of the games and was about 1,000 miles away from being impressed. Star Evil ended quite fast because as soon as you start, you smash into a block. There were plenty of shooting games, all of which had poor graphics, control, and sound. So, Active Enterprises wanted $3.08 per game huh. They weren't even worth that. Anyways, here's a scan of the Cheetahmen comic book that came packed with the Action 52.

Ok. So I played a bunch of games and couldn't find one good one. That's it, I'm going to Cheetahmen. I had this crazy idea that maybe Cheetahmen was an ok game since they had actually made a sequel. Wrong again! I'd rather be playing Pong. There was an ok and strange story about a guy being pulled into his tv set, then the game started. Why did they make 52 games!?!!!?! Why couldn't they take their time on one of them?!? Weren't any of the staff at Active Enterprises thinking, 'maybe we should go back and work on that Star Evil some more, it really made me vomit?'
Despite the games, the cart looks pretty cool and it is pretty rare. So if you are completing your NES collection, it's a great find.....And THAT IS ALL. I'm sure this game hurt the company pretty badly, considering they had so many carts left over, they just used them to make their sequel to Cheetamen.
I give this game
for
effort.
